Our Story

How it all started...

In the years following WW2, and long before the small communities of the Eastside became cities, a group of Christians in Kirkland came together to build a congregation of faithful believers and to evangelize the local community.
What started out as just a handful of people, soon grew to fill the small building they occupied and the work began to grow in earnest.

Expanding the vision...

In the 1960's the church built a larger building on Rose Hill to accommodate its growth and undertook a new mission.  For the next two decades the Kirkland Church of Christ began training young preachers and established a system of weeknight classes to instruct these men, as well as members of local churches and the community. Courses in books of the Bible, the Greek and Hebrew texts and church history trained many evangelists who went on to preach in locations across the country. In addition, the church ran a popular radio program, "Ask Your Preacher" that popularized Bible answers to Bible questions.

Where we are headed...

The Kirkland Church of Christ now has a facility that can handle additional growth and the activities necessary for a vibrant church in our growing community.
The group has helped support many faithful works around the Northwest, across the country and internationally as well.
In addition to our midweek Bible study we are focused on evangelizing our community and bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ to anyone willing to hear. We have a rich supply of lessons and classes available online for seekers as well as a weekly radio message on KCIS 630 AM.
We hope you will visit us at your next opportunity and we look forward to meeting you!
